Following The Scent Of The Sea

Due to tight schedules, we were not able to avail of our complimentary accommodation at Maribago during summer.  Last Saturday, the college sons just got back in town from Manila for their trimestral break, just in time for the long weekend in Cebu (Osmena Day, 9/9).  I saw the opening, made arrangements and luckily got our preferred date. Yes!  So now we're still here as of this writing.

We like it that there are beaches in Cebu that are just a short drive.  Maribago is one of them.  Today is not scorching hot and not rainy either.  Everybody is having fun and enjoying the remainder of the Monday holiday at the beach.  Thank God for family, for the accessible beach, for the perfect timing and so far, for the perfect weather too.

    I love that about Cebu too, the short drive to BEAUTIFUL beaches. Kasi dito naman sa Luzon meron din, pero if we want the really nice ones, medyo mas malayo ang drive.

      having the beaches and the mountains within driving distance are some of the pluses which made me love cebu. though i was born and raised in manila, i consider cebu my home now :)

School and a Mixed Bag of Emotions

Even with the (remaining) 9 year old son at home, doing his usual stuff alternately watching tv, tinkering with his Legos, cutting/ folding/ creating things with paper and playing with the iPad, and making a ruckus all by his lonesome, the house is, weirdly, quiet. I often find myself introspecting... about the nest almost empty now and other similar thoughts. And I struggle to stop myself from wallowing in a mixed bag of emotions. It's not a bad thing, except, I could waste hours doing that. I thought I was totally in control and could dismiss the situation as another milestone, like seeing your child lose his first baby tooth. Nothing a warm hug or an ice cream could not fix. by Linnor When the boys are home, their room doesn't stay as orderly as the pic above.  Mistulang binagyo kapag silang lahat ay nasa loob ng kanilang asul na kwarto. :) Merong nag-gigitara, merong nagko-kompyuter at merong naglalaro ng Lego.  Sa madaling sabi, pag nasa silid sila, talagang di maiiwasan ang pagiging makalat nito.  :P Anyway, at least nasa bahay lang sila at hindi nagbabarkada sa labas. Pero sa totoo lang, after a long day at work or from school, it's always nice to come home to a clean house.  Ang sarap magpahinga sa maayos na kabahayan pagkatapos ng mahabang araw  di ba?
