While smiling for the camera here, we were a mixed bag of emotions: happy to be out in the sun and breathing the sea breeze, but there was that feeling of unease; prepared, yet we wondered if our safeguards were enough.

In front of us were very few people lounging, some were in the water and two ladies were on a banana boat. Everything seemed normal. However, lifeguards and guests with masks were proof that everything was far from the old normal we were used to.

Even though it is safe outdoors versus enclosed places, and there is much more space to be 6 feet apart, we still couldn't let our guards down...

It has been raining lately and most days have been overcast. However, we were fortunate to have a nice, bright and breezy day last week. Perfect for the work holiday too!

So after months of being cooped up at home except for essential errands, we dared to venture out. Armed with our quarantine passes, masks and shields, we drove to our destination 18 km away.

Finally! ☀️🌊🌴

2020-09-15 This wasn't really an attraction but I felt it was a nice spot for a shot while waiting for my brother to take us around Boston Common and Public Garden.

I could hardly recall what exactly happened, but this photo reminds me of that time when confusion ensued because we couldn't find him and he was frantically searching for us too.

Funny how photos bring back memories like that. I am shaking my head and grinning in amusement now. ♥️

2020-09-14 Friends tell me they cannot imagine themselves packing so much sightseeing in a short span of time. For peso-pinching travelers like my family, it is how we make the most of our budget for five.

This photo, for example, was taken at Solvang where we had lunch. When we traveled from Anaheim to San Francisco, instead of renting a self-drive vehicle, we opted to take a tour bus which had stops at Santa Barbara and Solvang.

It was a better option for we didn't have to take turns at the wheel for the long drive or risk getting lost. We just slept on the road, then explored the places and took photos in every stop. It was fun, I highly recommend it. Caveat, read user reviews to be sure.

2020-09-13 Isn't a mom always the biggest fan of her youngsters? There may be times when things are not a-okay, when tempers flare up or when views clash but never will I ever be not thankful for and proud of these three ♥️.

2020-09-10 Osmeña Day holiday in 2016 fell on a Friday. Thanks to the long weekend and fare discounts, hubby and I thought it a good time to go on a short trip to Thailand.

It was hubby's third, the eldest son's second and the first time for me and the other sons. Of the few days we had, 1 day was spent exploring the ruins of Ayutthaya.

In this photo, the sons are dwarfed by the remains of the Grand Palace.

via IFTTT 2020-09-06 Solo travel is not really my thing. I get overwhelmed being in an unfamiliar place with strangers. So I'm happiest when sightseeing with family, relatives or friends. This was two years ago on a short cruise on Sun Moon Lake with my family and my in-laws.

via IFTTT 2020-09 When she's in town for a few days, we usually go and see new places. This was one of those times when we went to the newly opened Michel's Garden in Carmen, Cebu. Soon when the quarantine rules are eased up, it would be nice to drive back and visit again.

via IFTTT 2020-09-04 For somebody too lazy to grow plants, I'm glad there are places up in the highlands of Cebu like this botanical garden in Malubog. On a whim, one can just drive up here to bask in the verdant greens or to enjoy a cuppa while the cool breeze refreshes one's being...

2020-09-01 Hello September!

Here's looking back to one of our family trips with the sons and reminiscing about the awesome time we had seeing Mont Saint-Michel for the first time.

Despite the almost 6 months lockdown, we are grateful for our health and the chance to be together. ♥️
