Weekend in SG

It was a quick decision, the impulse to buy the ticket and join my brother Junnie on a short trip to Singapore to visit sis May and her family.  The heavens conspired and my usually hectic schedule seemingly cleared up to make way for the trip.

Not counting the numerous reunions we had in Manila or Cebu, this trip was the second time we were out of the country in the company of each other.  And what's amusing of all, this was the first time we were together without the usual petty squabbles we used to have during younger years.  Well, there was one minor incident where I found myself running the length of Orchard road to beat the time to redeem my GST.  Hehe...

The whirlwind weekend was filled with food binging on roti prata, chili crab, laksa and Asian fusion food delicacies.  Gastronomic delights in between sightseeing, shopping and just being with each other truly made for a great get-together of sorts.

Looking forward to the next one... hopefully, really soon!

One thing we have going for us is that we have strong faith that this too shall pass, and that the Filipino will rise above. It is October already and it seemed that no one noticed that we arrived Manila last Monday at the heels of the weekend Typhoon Ondoy visited the country. This week we celebrated the feast of the Archangels - Raphael, Michael and Gabriel, and last Thursday, we celebrated the feast of our Guardian Angels. School and a Mixed Bag of Emotions

"You can’t imagine your life with kids, until you have them, then you can’t imagine your life without them." ~Author Unknown It's been a week since two of our three sons flew to Manila to attend their classes. Even with the (remaining) 9 year old son at home, doing his usual stuff alternately watching tv, tinkering with his Legos, cutting/ folding/ creating things with paper and playing with the iPad, and making a ruckus all by his lonesome, the house is, weirdly, quiet. I often find myself introspecting... about the nest almost empty now and other similar thoughts. And I struggle to stop myself from wallowing in a mixed bag of emotions. It's not a bad thing, except, I could waste hours doing that. I thought I was totally in control and could dismiss the situation as another milestone, like seeing your child lose his first baby tooth. Nothing a warm hug or an ice cream could not fix. On the contrary, that hug at this time just exacerbates the yearning. It

by Linnor When the boys are home, their room doesn't stay as orderly as the pic above.  Mistulang binagyo kapag silang lahat ay nasa loob ng kanilang asul na kwarto. :) Merong nag-gigitara, merong nagko-kompyuter at merong naglalaro ng Lego.  Sa madaling sabi, pag nasa silid sila, talagang di maiiwasan ang pagiging makalat nito.  :P Anyway, at least nasa bahay lang sila at hindi nagbabarkada sa labas. Pero sa totoo lang, after a long day at work or from school, it's always nice to come home to a clean house.  Ang sarap magpahinga sa maayos na kabahayan pagkatapos ng mahabang araw  di ba?
