062519 The condo that gumballs bought.
We were both employed full time. Husband was helping out in their family business while I was a newly-hired finance manager. Our combined pay was just enough for a family of 4 (sons were aged 4 and 1 then, 3rd son wasn’t born yet). To stretch our resources, we stayed with my mother-in-law who was so generous and accommodating. However, we knew this was a temporary arrangement. Sooner or later we had to find our own place.
So to augment our income, we ran our little gumball business. This venture turned into our cash machine and provided us the extra funds.
In 1997, five years into our marriage, after careful calculations and with the small biz we had going, we took a leap of faith. We decided to buy our first property, a 79sqm 2-br condo in Guadalupe. We moved in by 1999, after 7 years of rent-free stay with my MIL. God bless her soul.
This photo was taken in 2005 with my parents. The sons were already 12, 9 and 1.
