021019 People tell me to linger when I visit a place, to immerse myself and feel how it is to be a native of the locale. However, friends and family know me as one who will squeeze in as much sightseeing as I can get and not waste time on people-watching, shopping or walking aimlessly. To each his own I guess. With a free weekend after last Friday’s wedding, we went on a road trip to the south. From Alabang, we drove for about an hour to this exotic, Balinese-inspired garden resort. We had enough time to walk around and see the tastefully decorated and well-manicured grounds. The tropical foliage, colored walls with kamala designs and artisan crafted and carved wooden Buddha heads and daybeds reminded me of the movie Eat, Pray, Love. It sort of makes you want to meditate. Though not really Balinese, their buffet lunch spread was filling. I particularly loved the freshly made seafood pesto pasta from their pasta station. After a leisurely lunch, more walking and soaking in nature and the tranquility, we drove away feeling happy to have discovered Cintai Corito in Batangas. This week we celebrated the feast of the Archangels - Raphael, Michael and Gabriel, and last Thursday, we celebrated the feast of our Guardian Angels. School and a Mixed Bag of Emotions

"You can’t imagine your life with kids, until you have them, then you can’t imagine your life without them." ~Author Unknown It's been a week since two of our three sons flew to Manila to attend their classes. Even with the (remaining) 9 year old son at home, doing his usual stuff alternately watching tv, tinkering with his Legos, cutting/ folding/ creating things with paper and playing with the iPad, and making a ruckus all by his lonesome, the house is, weirdly, quiet. I often find myself introspecting... about the nest almost empty now and other similar thoughts. And I struggle to stop myself from wallowing in a mixed bag of emotions. It's not a bad thing, except, I could waste hours doing that. I thought I was totally in control and could dismiss the situation as another milestone, like seeing your child lose his first baby tooth. Nothing a warm hug or an ice cream could not fix. by Linnor When the boys are home, their room doesn't stay as orderly as the pic above.  Mistulang binagyo kapag silang lahat ay nasa loob ng kanilang asul na kwarto. :) Merong nag-gigitara, merong nagko-kompyuter at merong naglalaro ng Lego.  Sa madaling sabi, pag nasa silid sila, talagang di maiiwasan ang pagiging makalat nito.  :P Anyway, at least nasa bahay lang sila at hindi nagbabarkada sa labas. Pero sa totoo lang, after a long day at work or from school, it's always nice to come home to a clean house.  Ang sarap magpahinga sa maayos na kabahayan pagkatapos ng mahabang araw  di ba?
