021019 People tell me to linger when I visit a place, to immerse myself and feel how it is to be a native of the locale. However, friends and family know me as one who will squeeze in as much sightseeing as I can get and not waste time on people-watching, shopping or walking aimlessly. To each his own I guess. With a free weekend after last Friday’s wedding, we went on a road trip to the south. From Alabang, we drove for about an hour to this exotic, Balinese-inspired garden resort. We had enough time to walk around and see the tastefully decorated and well-manicured grounds. The tropical foliage, colored walls with kamala designs and artisan crafted and carved wooden Buddha heads and daybeds reminded me of the movie Eat, Pray, Love. It sort of makes you want to meditate. Though not really Balinese, their buffet lunch spread was filling. I particularly loved the freshly made seafood pesto pasta from their pasta station. After a leisurely lunch, more walking and soaking in nature and the tranquility, we drove away feeling happy to have discovered Cintai Corito in Batangas. Namaste. http://bit.ly/2UOWoSn via Tumblr http://bit.ly/2E1TnIF
