Your friend has a very kind and generous heart. I hope more people are like her instead of those bickering in the midst of the chaos. We always have a choice...to be part of the solution or not...she chose rightly.

Even with the (remaining) 9 year old son at home, doing his usual stuff alternately watching tv, tinkering with his Legos, cutting/ folding/ creating things with paper and playing with the iPad, and making a ruckus all by his lonesome, the house is, weirdly, quiet. I often find myself introspecting... about the nest almost empty now and other similar thoughts. And I struggle to stop myself from wallowing in a mixed bag of emotions. It's not a bad thing, except, I could waste hours doing that. Looking at old photos is becoming my favorite activity to pass time. Thanks to popular memes on instagram and the instant access to pictures at flickr, I get to dig them up, view them and be transported back in time... in a snap.
My guilt-free recipe is made of 2 whole avocados, low-fat milk and Superfoodgrocer's coconut sugar (to taste). The picky-eater son loved it. A serving of fruit for the day = mission accomplished.
