School Daze

After ten days in Manila for my father's angioplasty, we all flew back to Cebu for the start of school.

Matt, the eldest, was left behind as his first trimester in college started last May 31st, a Monday.

It feels different without him at home. The other boys miss him as much as we do. And I guess that's how it's going to be for quite some time.

Tomorrow, Kyle's classes will start. On the 15th will be Jake's. The only thing going for me is the thought that with school, all the boys are more productive. All the gaming gadgets and the tv will be put to rest.

    No more angioplasty, Papa! You have to follow the doctor's advice ha.

    I miss home. I wonder if home misses me too. :)

School and a Mixed Bag of Emotions

Even with the (remaining) 9 year old son at home, doing his usual stuff alternately watching tv, tinkering with his Legos, cutting/ folding/ creating things with paper and playing with the iPad, and making a ruckus all by his lonesome, the house is, weirdly, quiet. I often find myself introspecting... about the nest almost empty now and other similar thoughts. And I struggle to stop myself from wallowing in a mixed bag of emotions. It's not a bad thing, except, I could waste hours doing that. I thought I was totally in control and could dismiss the situation as another milestone, like seeing your child lose his first baby tooth. Nothing a warm hug or an ice cream could not fix. On the contrary, that hug at this time just exacerbates the yearning. It

by Linnor When the boys are home, their room doesn't stay as orderly as the pic above.  Mistulang binagyo kapag silang lahat ay nasa loob ng kanilang asul na kwarto. :) Merong nag-gigitara, merong nagko-kompyuter at merong naglalaro ng Lego.  Sa madaling sabi, pag nasa silid sila, talagang di maiiwasan ang pagiging makalat nito.  :P Anyway, at least nasa bahay lang sila at hindi nagbabarkada sa labas. Pero sa totoo lang, after a long day at work or from school, it's always nice to come home to a clean house.  Ang sarap magpahinga sa maayos na kabahayan pagkatapos ng mahabang araw  di ba?
