022719 By Cebu standards, any destination that is more than 20 minutes away from starting point is considered far. However, locals are willing to drive out in search of new places to see, try, or hang out in. After having heard from a friend about a new seafood resto at the South Road Properties (SRP), we decided to go. Food was good. And its location is in this newly completed part of Il Corso along the shore of mainland Cebu facing Mactan Island. Behind the row of dining outlets is a nice mini boardwalk with fountains and a small playground, a breezy place for al fresco meals with a view. It may be a good 35-minute drive from where we live, far by Cebu standards, but we’ll keep visiting this place to try out the restos, check out what’s new or hang and just enjoy the “sea”-nery. https://ift.tt/2XtrnW0 via Tumblr https://ift.tt/2GMONRb

022219 Pa and Ma on Hearts Day… At their age, I easily get worried at the slightest sign of a cough or cold or when they seem to have difficulty doing their regular activities. Imagine my cortisol level last Wednesday when Pa was advised to stay a night at the hospital for observation due to infection. He has been discharged since and a check-up is scheduled for next week. I pray no more health scares like this would happen anytime soon. I pray that we would all be blessed with excellent health and be able to enjoy each other’s company for as long as possible, God-willing. https://ift.tt/2Nqbbk0 via Tumblr https://ift.tt/2U3MEUf

021718 Fresh from Ting Hun… We all happily witnessed the Chinese engagement ceremony of our nephew and his bride-to-be. A Ting Hun symbolizes the acceptance of both the bride and groom to be in each of their families. Although not mandatory in marriage, this is a time-honored Chinese tradition upheld by generations, and is similar to the Filipino “pamamanhikan”. http://bit.ly/2DNlAln via Tumblr http://bit.ly/2Eg4rlQ
